Nofx says goodbye to the punk rock scene
Nofx says goodbye to the punk rock scene after a 40-year career with a 40-city tour around the world.
I think it was the year 1991 or 1992 when a copied cassette tape came into my house with in one side “Liberal Animation” produced by Nofx in 1988 and in the b side “Against the grain” produced by Bad Religion in 1990.

From that moment it was all different, between one skateboard session and another, this cassette I listened to it so many times, it was the 90s the years of California punk rock.

Nofx, in 1994 came with “Punk in Drublic” a milestone for all Nofx fans and that in those years blended in a perfect way punk rock with impressive execution and production.

If you’re still listening to “Linoleum” “Leave it Alone” “Don’t Call me White” “Perfect Government” “The Brews” “Lori Meyers” “Punk Guy” and in short the whole album, you know very well what I’m talking about
Since then Nofx, deliberately remaining faithfully independent, have churned out many albums and played concerts with impressive tours in all parts of the world.
Fat Mike is a visionary, with his Fat Wreck Chord label founded in San Francisco in 1990 with his wife at the time Erin Burkett, he has produced in addition to Nofx albums, some 300 studio albums including those of Lagwagon, Propagandhi, and No Use for a Name. In 1993, the label released records by Rancid, Face to Face, and Strung Out. Fat Mike & Erin continue to run the label together and remain 100% independent.
Undoubtedly Nofx will always remain one of the best, longest-lived and productive bands on the face of the earth.
If you are lucky enough to be in one of the 40 cities where the band’s latest tour is passing through, I highly recommend going to their concert, you will not regret it.
For fans of any band, when the end is announced, it is never easy to digest but sometimes there might be a reunion as it also happened for Good Riddance, Bane, Refused and so many other great bands…
We’ll wait for this reunion for sure!
